Twitter Search Now Reads URLs behind Shortened Links
Twitter Search is improving quite a bit. It's now able to read the URL behind the shortened link from both bit.ly and Hootsuite's ow.ly.
See the example below...
In two of my tweets there are no keywords or phrases that match "Flagler County." However, the URL in both links is pointing to http://palm-coast-flagler-county-florida.blogspot.com/ and the twitter search is able to pickup the "Flagler-County" portion of the URL from behind the shortened links:
Next time you're searching something on twitter if the results do not contain the keywords or the phrases you're searching for, don't be surprised; it's not a miracle, it's just that twitter search is adding value by looking at the actual URL. :)
For those who are new to twitter (and for those who are not on twitter), how do you search twitter? There are many ways, but you can start with using the twitter search engine at http://search.twitter.com
